The name of this blog, Rainbow Juice, is intentional.
The rainbow signifies unity from diversity. It is holistic. The arch suggests the idea of looking at the over-arching concepts: the big picture. To create a rainbow requires air, fire (the sun) and water (raindrops) and us to see it from the earth.
Juice suggests an extract; hence rainbow juice is extracting the elements from the rainbow, translating them and making them accessible to us. Juice also refreshes us and here it symbolises our nutritional quest for understanding, compassion and enlightenment.

Welcome

Hi, welcome to my new blog.  This blog will be up and running by the end of March 2012.  My intention in this blog is to reflect upon over 30 years of experience working (paid and unpaid) in the fields of community development, community education and social justice.  In that time I have learnt that not only is everything connected but that in many ways everything is the one and the same.
This blog will also draw on my extensive learning and reading in associated fields of systems theory, chaos theory, complexity and sustainability.
The name of the blog - Rainbow Juice - is intentional.  The rainbow is highly symbolic.  In order to see a rainbow we need air, fire (the sun) and water (raindrops) plus, we need to be standing in exactly the right spot.  The colours of the rainbow announce diversity yet they come from a oneness (a Unity) of white light.  The idea of "juice" is that it is the extract from the diversity of colour and that juice may be what nourishes us and sustains us.
If you've arrived here and find that this is all there is, then please do come back.  However, at the moment I am in the midst of packing up house and belongings to shift from one side of the Tasman Sea (New Zealand) to the other side (Australia).  Once I arrive on that other shore i will have the time to add content to this site.
So, in the meantime, best wishes and I hope to see you here in the future.
Bruce
